This year I found a Santa suit at a thrift store for I think $8.00, minus the beard. We drove all over town looking for a beard and they were sold out everywhere, so we borrowed one.
I had grand ideas of one of our neighbors dressing up like Santa and putting on a show for the kids. Well I couldn't get a neighbor to dress up, So guess who is behind that Santa suit?
Uh Oh Santa, caught the kids watching him out the window, while shelf elf was reporting how good they have been this year.
Here is Santa talking to shelf elf out in the yard. Little Gordy and Alexis were going nuts watching out the window. In case you were wondering Shelf elf is a little elf we only get out during Christmas time. He sits on a shelf somewhere in the house, and in the middle of the night he goes to the North Pole to report to Santa ,if the kids are being nautey or nice. When shelf elf returns he finds a new place in the house to sit and observe, we have even caught him hanging out on top of the ceiling fan. By the way when shelf elf is found in one of the kids rooms, it is a great motivator for them to clean their room so he doesn't tell Santa they are messy.
Here's what Santa Claus does after a long Christmas Season of making gifts.(and dressing up)

That is a great idea. with the shelf elf. Jamey told the kids that santa sends hes elve to spy on the kids. He also told them that all the camera's that are at the store hook up to the north pole it worked really well for Bryce and Bridget. I'll have to find a shelf elf.
The shelf elf sounds like an awesome tradition! Another idea I may have to borrow. I find it so fasinating that children never recognize their own father (or grandfather, etc.) when they're dressed up as Santa. I can't believe how it works every time. Oh well, it sounds like the little ones really enjoyed it!
